Back in 2011, the Detroit Mayor put on Twitter what the citizens were looking to improve within Detroit. One user responded, “Philadelphia has a statue of Rocky & Robocop would kick Rocky’s butt. He’s a GREAT ambassador for Detroit.” The mayor said they have no plans for a Robocop statue and then the internet decided to build one themselves. A kickstarter campaign raised $67,436 in under a week.
