Ex-boyfriend arrested in I-20 shooting that killed pregnant woman in Arlington

Arlington police have arrested a suspect accused of killing his pregnant ex-girlfriend and her unborn child in a shooting along Interstate 20 last month.

Homicide detectives obtained warrants for the arrest of 29-year-old Malik Miner on one count of capital murder, three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and one count of deadly conduct, police said in a news release Thursday. Members of the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force took Miner into custody Wednesday in Midlothian.

The shooting occurred on Nov. 12. A 28-year-old man called police about 7:40 p.m. to report that he and his girlfriend had been shot while driving westbound on I-20 near Bowman Springs Road.
