Dallas begins enforcing citywide vaping ban in public places

Dallas officials begin enforcing a citywide ban on vaping in public places today, bringing e-cigarettes under the same restrictions that already apply to traditional smoking.

The ordinance prohibits vaping indoors, within 15 feet of building entrances and on city park property.

The rules were approved by the Dallas City Council last year, with a one-year phase-in period to give businesses and residents time to adjust. City leaders say the ban is intended to reduce secondhand exposure to vapor products and create consistency across local smoking policies…
