Dallas City Council approves zoning for the city’s first H-E-B grocery store, clearing the way for the San Antonio-based chain to build near LBJ Freeway and Hillcrest Drive.
The rezoning passed on a 14-1 vote after months of public debate over traffic concerns, neighborhood impact and the scale of the proposed development.
The project marks H-E-B’s first store within Dallas city limits, although the company has expanded rapidly across North Texas in recent years with locations in Frisco, Plano, McKinney and Alliance.
