Early-morning gunfire turned a familiar South Dallas crossroads into a crime scene today, leaving one person dead and another wounded as detectives scrambled for answers.
Dallas police say officers were dispatched at about 5:30 a.m. to the intersection of East Ledbetter Drive and Bonnie View Road in southern Dallas. When they arrived, they found two people with gunshot wounds. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other was taken to a hospital for treatment. Police have not released additional details about that person’s condition, and the investigation is ongoing.
What Police Are Saying So Far
According to WFAA, officers confirmed at the scene that one victim had died and that the second had been rushed to a hospital. As of the initial update, Dallas police had not released the victims’ names or provided any suspect description.
Detectives have asked anyone who might have seen or heard something to contact investigators as they work to piece together what happened and who pulled the trigger.
