GARLAND — San Antonio-based grocery giant H-E-B is bringing not one but two new stores to the Dallas suburb of Garland, the company announced Monday — a move that signals the Texas retailer’s continued aggressive push into the North Texas market.
H-E-B unveiled plans for two new projects in the City of Garland in a February 24 news release. The first project will revitalize a vacant shopping center at the northeast corner of Centerville Road and LBJ Freeway. The approximately seven-acre site will become home to North Texas’ fourth Joe V’s Smart Shop, H-E-B’s value-focused spinoff brand that emphasizes high-quality products at the lowest prices in the marketplace. Construction is expected to begin in the coming months.
