The recent weather pattern of rain and storms continues on Memorial Day, May 25, and there is the potential for severe weather and tornadoes for part of Mississippi.
The National Weather Service has issued an advisory Monday morning warning of potential isolated severe storms, damaging wind up to 60 mph and tornadoes. The area includes Columbus, Philadelphia, and Laurel with Hattiesburg lies on the boundary. The area is under Marginal Risk, or a Level 1 threat of a possible five. Timing of the event is until about 3 p.m.
