Jackson leaders remind families of summer curfew for minors

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – City leaders are reminding families to keep tabs on where their kids are going and who they’re with to help keep them out of trouble this summer.

Councilman Kenneth Stokes is reminding parents that no one under the age of 18 can be on the streets alone in Jackson between midnight and 6 a.m. on weekends and 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. during the week.

Right now, violators and their parents could face a fine if caught. But Stokes says he wants to tighten up plans to enforce the summer curfew, hoping to prevent more minors from getting caught up in violence and crime…
