UMMC AirCare expanding fleet with fixed-wing aircraft, hiring additional medical staff

JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) – The University of Mississippi Medical Center’s AirCare team is preparing for a major expansion that officials say will help connect critically ill patients across Mississippi and neighboring states with lifesaving specialty care faster and more efficiently.

UMMC announced it is adding a fixed-wing aircraft to the AirCare fleet through its partnership with Global Medical Response. The new aircraft, a Pilatus PC-12, will become the fifth vehicle in the AirCare program and marks a significant step forward in the hospital’s emergency transport capabilities.
