More shake-ups could be on tap for JPD, memo reveals

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Officers tied to many of the Jackson Police Department’s (JPD) specialized units will have to reapply if they want to stay in those roles.

That’s according to a memo handed down by Chief RaShall Brackney on Wednesday.

The memo stated that all personnel assigned to “units with a nexus to federal partnerships and specialized investigative operations,” must submit a letter of interest and a current resume to her office by June 9 for “continued consideration.”…
