MADISON, Miss. (WLBT) – A first responder in Madison is urging residents to take precautions when powering up their generators this year to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning.
Lisa Valadie, a community educator and paramedic with the Madison Fire Department, spoke to 3 On Your Side on Monday, saying a couple recently had to be treated for carbon monoxide poisoning after a generator was installed too close to their home.
“They are fine,” she said. “The concern’s really now … making sure that the generator is maintained and [possibly] moved farther away from the house.”…
