Lawsuit filed against former Jackson Area Federal Credit Union CEO

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The National Credit Union Administration Board (NCUAB) filed a lawsuit in federal court against former Jackson Area Federal Credit Union (JAFCU) CEO Leigh Bridges and her husband, Chad.

In a federal complaint, the agency alleged Bridges misappropriated at least $51 million from JAFCU through false deposit entries and transfers. The lawsuit claimed the money was used for personal purchases, including credit card payments, jewelry, vehicles and real estate.

The NCUAB said they’re trying to recover funds while acting as conservator for the credit union.
