Former JAFCU employee says CEO lavished her with gifts, helped her buy home

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – The third person named in a federal lawsuit alleging the misuse of $95 million in credit union funds had access to – and the authority to use – her boss’ credit card for 10 years.

Leigh Bridges, Chad Bridges, and Tina Funez are being sued by the National Credit Union Association (NCUA) for their roles in allegedly embezzling $95 million in funds from the Jackson Area Federal Credit Union (JAFCU).

The suit was initially filed in May against former JAFCU CEO and President Leigh Bridges and her husband Chad in U.S. District Court. In June, Funez, a former JAFCU branch manager, was added to the complaint…
