The Mississippi Forestry Commission has announced the winners of the 2026 Arbor Day Poster Contest, held in celebration of Arbor Day and the agency’s 100th Anniversary. Two of those winners are fifth-grade students from Crystal Springs.
Students in grades 4-8 could compete for first- and second-place wins. Both fifth-grade wins came from Crystal Springs Middle School. Adonia Quinto Ortego won first, and Marianna Hall placed second.
This year’s theme, “At Home in the Forest,” invited students across Mississippi to explore the many ways forests provide habitat, protection, and a sense of community for people and wildlife.
