JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – An autopsy was conducted Tuesday in connection with the death of Tasia Fortune, but officials say an official cause and manner of death have not yet been determined.
The Jackson Police Department stated that the case remains classified as a death pending investigation while investigators await findings from the Office of the Medical Examiner.
Authorities noted they are aware of widespread public attention and social media speculation surrounding Fortune’s death, which occurred in the 500 block of Road of Remembrance. Department officials urged the public and media to avoid drawing unverified conclusions before official results are released.
