FLORENCE – A woods fire near Florence burned approximately 4 to 5 acres Monday evening after a power line hit the ground, according to Rankin County Emergency Operations.
The fire was reported off Seventh Day Road.
Rankin County Emergency Operations said the downed power line sparked the fire, which spread through the wooded area.
