CLINTON, Miss. (WLBT) – Two are in custody after a high-speed pursuit involving Pearl police ended in a crash on Interstate 20 in Clinton Saturday morning.
According to Pearl Police Chief Nick McLendon, the pursuit began after officers attepmted a traffic stop on I-20 westbound.
During the pursuit, Chief McLendon said officers executed a tactical vehicle intervention when the suspect identified as 29-year-old Zachary Brooks intentionally rammed and damaged two Pearl patrol vehicles.
Brooks and a female passenger were taken into police custody. He was then taken to UMMC after officers discovered he had swallowed narcotics during the chase…
