JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Today: It’s a bit of a mild start this morning as temperatures remain in the upper 50s and low 60s. There’s a bit more moisture in the air from the rain this weekend, however the rain will hold off for the day. Winds are expected to pick up for the afternoon with gusts between 10 and 15 mph. Highs today will be in the upper 70s and low 80s with mostly cloudy skies.
Election Day: Tuesday will start off as polls open for election day. Most of the day stays dry until we get to the evening where a few isolated showers are expected to develop. A cold front arrives Tuesday night and will linger into early Wednesday morning. Some of these storms may pack a punch, as a marginal risk (1/5) is in place for areas west of I-55. Damaging winds will be the primary concern along with some small hail. There is a chance for some localized flash flooding along with a brief spin-up tornado, so make sure to stay weather aware!…
