According to Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade, the coroner determined the child had possibly been deceased for 10 hours. He also said there were signs of trauma.

Wade said the mother was transported to the police department’s headquarters for questioning. The police chief also said investigators are brining in other family members to question them.

“There’s no doubt that this child died at the hands of an adult, and that person will be held accountable in the City of Jackson,” said Wade.
