Kambria Darby was charged with contributing to the neglect or delinquency of a minor
The Mississippi mother who went viral after a Walmart employee posted a video of the woman’s toddler seemingly wearing only a diaper in freezing temperatures was arrested for child neglect.
Kambria Darby, 26, was filmed while she was shopping at a Walmart in Byram – a suburb of Jackson, Mississippi – with her toddler who appeared to be shivering and wearing only a diaper in sub-freezi n g weather last week.
She was arrested after the incident and charged with contributing to the neglect or delinquency of a minor, according to court records. If convicted, she faces a maximum sentence of six years in prison.
In the video, the child was seen wearing nothing but what appeared to be his mother’s puffy coat that witnesses in the video said he was not wearing when the two entered the store.
At one point, Darby appeared to toss a frozen package of food into the cart, which landed on the child’s leg.
