Jackson State students move from University Pointe after mold found

JACKSON, Miss. ( WJTV ) – Jackson State University (JSU) students have been moved from University Pointe Apartments after mold was found in the facility.

JSU officials said a routine inspection of the apartments resulted in a positive mold test in some units. They said the university is investigating and will take appropriate measures.

IHL holds campus listening sessions at Alcorn State

The university has reassigned all University Pointe residents for the remainder of the semester.

“We remain committed to the safety and well-being of our students. Their cooperation and understanding are appreciated as we shift to the best option to mitigate disruption to their higher education experience,” JSU officials said.
