The Jackson City Council approved a resolution that encourages JXN Water to issue credit for customers who had to run their water to keep pipes from bursting during the mid-January freeze the capital city experienced.
“With this resolution we’re hoping that JXN Water would pay attention to the concerns of the citizens in this city,” said Ward 3 Councilman Kenneth Stokes, who introduced the resolution at the council’s Tuesday meeting.
“Running water when you’re already on a low budget to keep the pipes from freezing is going to impact the water bill for many,” Stokes said. “It was either run the water and pay an extra amount on the water bill or allow the pipes to burst then you pay more money for plumbers.”
