She participated in an armed carjacking that resulted in the death of Terrell Jenkins and was charged with accessory after the fact to the murder of 12-year-old Markell Noah. Owens was initially indicted for first-degree murder in the case of Jenkins, but her trial was set to begin on Monday when she changed her plea to guilty.
