Flowood businessman, author sentenced to 20 years for severely beating wife

Mardis, arrested in October 2022 after fleeing to Florida, was apprehended and recently violated his bond by being caught dining with his victim. A deputy dining at the same restaurant recognized them, leading to Mardis’ bond revocation. The author of a tax planning book, Mardis founded Capital Preservation Services and pleaded guilty to the charges in October 2023.
