PEARL, Miss. ( WJTV ) – Capitol police arrested a man after a chase from Jackson into Pearl.
Bailey Martin, press secretary for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (DPS), said officers observed a red Chevrolet Camaro traveling at an excessive rate of speed around 1:30 a.m. on January 31 near Pearl Street and Gallatin Street in Jackson.

Officers tried to stop the vehicle, but Martin said the driver led officers on a chase into Pearl.
She said Pearl police assisted after the suspect’s car left the road near Childre Road and hit a tree.
The driver, who was identified as Zandarius Brooks, was arrested and charged with felony fleeing and eluding law enforcement.
