JACKSON, Miss. ( WJTV ) – Some in Jackson said they feel inspired after attending a Black History Month program hosted by Councilman Kenneth Stokes, Ward 3.
The councilman kicked off Black History Month with a program at Medger Evers Library. The keynote speaker was Central District Public Service Commissioner De’Keither Stamps.
Stamps said it’s time to pursue Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s, dream by having Mississippians work together to move forward in the right direction. He said the only way we’ll move forward is everyone coming together in a spirit of excellence.
