JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – A local student from Jackson has been named the winner of the Angie Thomas Writers Scholarship to Belhaven University. The scholarship aims to help young aspiring writers who need extra support to make their dreams of authorship a reality. She will be getting a full-ride at the local university.
