15-year-old charged with capital murder in Jackson

JACKSON, Miss. ( WJTV ) – Jackson police arrested a 15-year-old in connection to a homicide that occurred on Sunday, February 4.

Deputy Chief Sequerna Banks said police arrested 15-year-old Christian Powell on Thursday, February 8. He was charged with capital murder and aggravated assault.

Suspect wanted for damaging downtown Jackson traffic lights

The shooting happened in the 300 block of Red Oak Drive on Sunday. Banks said one of the victims, who was identified as Charles Brown, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
