Jackson man arrested for Walmart theft

A Jackson man was arrested this week on a grand larceny charge officials with Vicksburg Police Department (VPD) said originated from an incident at Walmart.

“Deaunte Lewis, 37, of Jackson, Mississippi, was taken into custody on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, on a warrant for grand larceny stemming from an incident at Walmart on February 18, 2024, where he pushed a buggy containing $1,541.96 worth of merchandise out the store without paying,” VPD said in a statement.

Lewis appeared in Vicksburg Municipal Court Tuesday before Judge Angela Carpenter. Lewis received a $10,000 bond and was bound over to the Warren County Grand Jury.
