Canton police investigate three weekend shootings, including homicide

CANTON, Miss. ( WJTV ) – Canton police are investigating three weekend shootings, including a homicide.

Canton Police Chief Otha Brown said the first shooting occurred in the Kingston Place subdivision just after 10:15 p.m. on Saturday, September 14. He said the victim, Kenvarius Brown was shot multiple times. He is in critical, but stable condition at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in Jackson.

The fatal shooting occurred around 12:40 a.m. on Sunday, September 15. Chief Brown said officers responded to the LC Greenwood and Walnut Street area and found multiple shell casings. They were later notified that the victim, Booker T. Henry, had been taken to Madison Merit Health by a private vehicle. Henry died from his injuries.

The third shooting occurred Sunday evening on MLK Drive near George Washington Street. The police chief said Darrion Henry and another man where both shot in the leg. Chief Brown said Darrion Henry is the brother of Booker T. Henry.
