Possible Major Hurricane Expected in Gulf This Week

The National Hurricane Center is monitoring Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine which is forecast to be near hurricane strength when it reaches the far northwestern Caribbean Sea Tuesday night, with further strengthening as it moves toward the northeastern Gulf Coast on Thursday, possibly as a major hurricane near Florida’s Big Bend area. Forecasters warn the track could change. At this point, though, it appears the impact on Mississippi should be minimal.
