Two arrested after chase ends in Byram

BYRAM, Miss. ( WJTV ) – Law enforcement agencies arrested two men after a chase ended in a crash in Byram.

Richland police said one of their detectives and a K-9 responded to the area of the Interstate 55 Frontage Road in Byram on September 19 to assist a Florence police officer, who had pursued a stolen vehicle. They said the vehicle had wrecked, and several suspects ran away from the scene.

According to Richland police, the same stolen vehicle had fled from multiple agencies recently and managed to evade arrest each time.

The K-9 was deployed to track the suspects, as well as the Clinton Police Department’s UAV/drone team. Police said the suspects were found by the thermal drone, hiding in thick brush on the bank of a creek.

The K-9 was able to locate one of the suspects, and the second was found a few feet away. Police said the second suspect attempted to run, but the K-9 was able to catch him.
