A Ridgeland police officer had to be extricated from his vehicle on Wednesday afternoon after being hit by a suspected drunk driver. The wreck happened on the I-220 ramp. The driver, identified as 43-year-old Luis Antonio Alcaraz Medino, hit the officer’s vehicle while traveling at high speed, according to the Ridgeland Police Department.
