Vote for Mississippi boys high school athlete of the week Oct. 1-5

There were several top performers across the state in boys high school sports, but only one can be voted athlete of the week for Oct. 1-5.

Fans may vote in the poll BELOW one time per hour per device. The poll closes at noon on Friday.

Nominations

Ny’zavion McClendon, Lake: McClendon recorded three catches for 209 receiving yards and three touchdowns in Lake’s 46-12 win over Clarkdale.

Marvin Moore, Callaway: Moore produced 218 rushing yards on 19 carries with four touchdowns and had a 35-yard punt return for a touchdown in Callaway’s 36-20 win over Forest Hill.

Demarion Scruggs, Independence: Scruggs had 70 rushing yards with a touchdown, 33 receiving yards and two interception return touchdowns, totaling 145 return yards in Independence’s 49-12 win over Holly Springs.

George Wilcox, Leake Academy: Wilcox had 358 passing yards on 21 completions with five touchdowns and had 13 rushing yards with a touchdown in Leake Academy’s 55-21 win over Pillow Academy.

Justyce Williams, Murrah: Williams completed 19 passes for 321 yards and six touchdowns in Murrah’s 48-45 win over Holmes County Central.
