The Jackson Police Department said a 25-year-old man was arrested in connection to a fatal shooting of a 42-year-old man in South Jackson.
A JPD press release stated officers found 42-year-old Tremaine Curry dead around 7 p.m. Friday in the 700 block of West McDowell Road. Police said Curry was shot multiple times at this location and pronounced dead at the scene.
Public Information Officer Tommie Brown said police arrested Emanuel Jaynes, 25, in connection to this case. Jaynes faces a murder charge.
The Clarion Ledger reached out to the department for details on what led to the shooting but has not heard back.
This Friday shooting on West McDowell Road is the 88th homicide JPD has investigated so far in 2024.
