HINDS COUNTY, Miss. ( WJTV ) – Hinds County deputies are investigating after a man was critically injured during a shooting.
The shooting occurred in the 1300 block of Airport Road in Raymond shortly after 4:00 p.m. on Monday, October 7.

Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones said a 44-year-old man was shot at least once in the upper body. He was transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in Jackson in critical condition.
Jones said a 45-year-old man was detained and identified as the possible shooter. The investigation is ongoing and charges are possible.
