Embedded Severe Weather Possible Late This Afternoon & Evening
10/31/24 4:41pm ET
Good afternoon everyone. We continue to watch the progression of our strong cold front that brought us some severe weather in the Midwest yesterday, as well as heavy showers & thunderstorms this morning from the Central States back into Texas.
This afternoon, that cold front marches on and is bringing some nasty weather with it towards the tail end of the system down by Louisiana and Mississippi. Heavy showers and thunderstorms are marching slowly across both states, and we are starting to see some heavier echoes developing.
While we don’t see any widespread severe weather at this time, embedded severe weather is still possible. Look for locally damaging winds, large hail, frequent lightning, and torrential rain. These storms will continue to move east and eventually head into Alabama before slowly weakening as they near Georgia.
