Widespread flash flooding is likely in western Louisiana on Saturday, thanks to a slowly moving frontal system that is pulling moisture north from Tropical Storm Rafael. Rain totals could surpass 6-12″ in some areas! This has led to a rare “high risk” for excessive rainfall (top of page), issued by the Weather Prediction Center. Typically, this level of risk is issued only a few times a year. Take the threat seriously and have multiple ways to receive weather alerts if you live around these locations.
