For anyone seeking alternatives to cooking all day on Christmas, the Jackson area has options. Most restaurants close on Dec. 25, but some will welcome diners on the holiday and offer traditional and non-traditional holiday meals.
Most of the restaurants open on Christmas Day are national chains, but there are some local favorites that will open their doors on Dec. 25.
The Block at Fondren
The Block at Fondren is a group of five businesses in the historic Fondren district, some revamped long-time favorites and some new additions: the Capri Theater, Fondren Yard, The Station, Highball Lanes and The Pearl Tiki Bar.
The Station and Fondren Yard, both located at 3025 North State St., will open for regular hours on Christmas 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. The Pearl and Highball Lanes will be closed on Christmas Day. Capri Theater next door to the Station and Fondren Yard will be open with showings of “Mufasa: The Lion King.”
Ding How
Ding How Asian Bistro, 6955 Old Canton Road in Ridgeland, will be open on Christmas Day for regular hours from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
