A man found dead in the summer of 2022 with a gunshot wound to the head has been identified by DNA evidence. The partially-skeletonized remains were found in a vacant, overgrown field at the intersection of Thomas Catchings Drive and Dixon Road as Jackson firefighters worked to extinguish a brush fire in the area. While there wasn’t a way to identify the body right away, it appeared to be that of a white male.
