Parts of the Mississippi Delta could get “moderate” accumulations of snow later this week while this part of the state can expect “little or no” accumulations, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures in the low to mid 20s are forecast in the local area tonight as the Arctic intrusion bears down on Mississippi with lows close to 20 degrees Wednesday night. NWS says it won’t be quite as cold Thursday night as the wintry precipitation moves in. Carthage, Durant and Philadelphia can expect rain and snow with maybe some freezing rain added to the mix in Kosciusko. Freezing rain could also be an issue Friday morning in some locations.
