Hundreds of coats, gloves and other winter clothing donated to eight-agency round-up

JANS – Jackson-area residents donated an estimated 1,200 coats, gloves, hats, scarves and other winter clothing to an eight-agency drive to help homeless people and others lacking protection from cold weather.

Four non-profit social service agencies and a church picked up winter wear their clients need at the Salvation Army at 110 Presto Lane. In addition to the Salvation Army, agencies receiving the donated clothing were Shower Power, Stewpot Community Services, Wingard Home Ministry, and Wells United Methodist Church.

The agencies began to distribute the clothing to their clients right away…
