MAGEE, Miss. ( WJTV ) – A minor earthquake was recorded in Mississippi on Saturday, March 15.
According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the 3.0-magnitude earthquake occurred about five miles northeast of Magee around 1:49 p.m. CT.
Severe storms hit Mississippi, thousands left without power
Officials with the Michigan Technological University said earthquakes below 2.5-magnitude are “generally not felt.” There’s no word on any affects from the earthquake near Magee.
Another minor earthquake was reported in Madison County on Thanksgiving Day in 2024.
