$400K litter removal contract sparks debate among Jackson City Council members

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – A seven-figure litter removal contract has sparked debate among Jackson city leaders, in part, because it was brought up for a vote without being bid out.

On Tuesday, the council narrowly approved a one-year, $400,000 contract with New Way Mississippi to pick up litter along Jackson’s rights-of-way.
