JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – The Mississippi Department of Archives and History is one step closer to ridding downtown Jackson of a vacant building with the donation to help create a park. Margaret Ann Crigler Park is designed to Fight the Blight, creating a green space between the Two Mississippi Museums and downtown.
“This is her,” said Noble Crigler pointing to a statue of his late wife Margaret Ann in designs.
The retired businessman donated the first $1 million for the park which will bear her name at the former Eudora Welty Library. Tuesday, a $1 million donation from the Community Foundation for Mississippi to the Foundation for Mississippi History will help make it happen…
