JACKSON, Miss. ( WJTV ) – A downed power line caused a fire outside of the WJTV 12 News station in South Jackson.
The fire occurred around 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2. Jackson firefighters have arrived at the location and are working to contain the fire.
The downed power line caused WJTV 12 News and the surrounding neighborhood to lose power.
The wind have may have played a factor in the incident. A Wind Advisory is in effect for the Jackson area until 11:45 p.m. on April 2. According to Entergy Mississippi’s website, there are nearly 6,000 power outages across Hinds County.
