Stormy weather is moving into Mississippi Monday, April 21 and some thunderstorms may be severe bringing threats of damaging wind, hail and possibly localized flash flooding.
“For the most part, we’re going to have some widespread showers with embedded thunderstorms and a few of those storms could become strong to potentially severe later this afternoon into this evening,” said Daniel Lamb, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Jackson . “It will be south of a line from Vicksburg to Yazoo City to Tupelo.
“So, it’s a pretty big chunk of the state. If any of those storms do become severe, the main threats are damaging wind gusts and hail up to the size of a quarter.”…
