First Alert Weather Day Today

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Heavy rain is on the way for our Tuesday afternoon and evening, along with a few strong to severe storms. While the potential for flash flooding is the main reason we have issued a First Alert Weather Day, there is also a chance that some places see a strong to severe storm (especially south of I-20). All modes of severe weather will be possible.

Timing-wise, the most widespread and heavy rain will be from about 6 PM to midnight. Rainfall totals will likely amount to between 2-4 inches, with isolated areas seeing even more than that.
