MegaCamp Spotlight | Son of Heisman Trophy winner Lake Nona (Fla.) athlete Charles Woodson Jr.

Eyes will certainly be on 2027 athlete Charles Woodson Jr. in Mississippi’s capital city on June 1. That’s when the four-star prospect will compete at the Jackson State/Southern Elite Combine Series MegaCamp in front of coaches from more than 45 colleges and universities.

The 5-11, 155-pound defensive back/wide receiver is rated as America’s No. 23 safety, the No. 26 player from the state of Florida’s 2027 class and No. 244 in the Top247. Woodson already holds offers from Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Kentucky, Syracuse, Sacramento State and Delaware.

And as for the name. That’s right. He is the son of former Heisman Trophy winner Charles Woodson. His dad played at Michigan (1995-97) where he was a three-time All-Big Ten selection, winning the Jim Thorpe, Chuck Bednarik, Bronco Nagurski, and Walter Camp awards in 1997 in addition to the Heisman Trophy. The elder Woodson was selected No. 4 overall in the 1998 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders. He also spent time with the Green Bay Packers. Woodson was a nine-time Pro Bowl selection the NFL Defensive Player of the year in 2009 and the NFL Rookie of the year in 1998. He also won Super Bowl XLV.

Woodson Jr. has visited Michigan’s campus in the past with his dad, camping the last two summers. His dad has helped coach his Lake Nona squad the last couple of seasons as well and is expected to help out again in what should be a pivotal junior season for Jr.’s recruitment…
