In sports, getting a second chance at redemption after a tough outing or game is something everyone wants. Well, Ryan McPherson got a chance at revenge against the Rebels after giving up the tying home run against Ole Miss back in Pearl. However, the moment this time was much larger with a series win on the line and runners on first and second with no outs. It was the toughest moment of his career to this point, being just a true freshman.
“Man, he showed a lot of poise,” Parker said of McPherson. “It is not like you are trying to protect a kid, but this is such an intense rivalry. He already pitched against them in Pearl, and he has been as good as anyone. We needed everything he had, and he was huge.”
